Letter to the Editor: School maintenance backlog in Coogee
In Parliament | 31.01.17
Dear Editor
I note that after much public criticism Liberal Member for Coogee, Bruce Notley-Smith, has announced that some funding was now allocated to reduce the alarming school maintenance backlog afflicting Coogee’s public schools (17 January 2017).
Any funding is welcome but what has been announced is far short of the $5.6million that is needed to fix broken heaters and fans, taps that leak, peeling paint and threadbare carpets.
Our kids deserve to be learning in the best classrooms in the world and rather than posturing about reading public servants the riot act, Mr Notley-Smith needs to be securing the funds from his Government to bring schools in Coogee up to standard.
Yours sincerely
