BEREJIKLIAN WAVES THE WHITE FLAG OVER TRAIN ON-TIME RUNNING

Gladys Berejiklian is backing away from her commitment to train on-time running because she is embarrassed that delays across the CityRail network are at their worst in four years, Shadow Transport Minister Penny Sharpe said today.

Ms Berejiklian has reportedly said today she wants to end the obsession with on-time running to focus on other CityRail performance measures such as cleanliness and customer service.

"Surely one of the key elements of so-called customer service is to get the trains to run on time.  Under the O'Farrell Government on time running is an optional extra," Ms Sharpe said today.

"Gladys Berejiklian is waving the white flag over on-time running because she knows trains are late and getting later since she became the Transport Minister.

O'FARRELL REFUSES TO LOWER RAIL FARES ON THE AIRPORT LINE

REJECTS EXPERT ADVICE

The O'Farrell Government has rejected the advice of Infrastructure NSW and the Joint Study into Aviation Capacity and will keep gouging passengers for using the airport rail line - despite having the power to lower prices on the privately constructed line.  

"Rather than improving public transport to the airport, the O'Farrell Government has chosen to gouge passengers instead," Shadow Transport Minister, Penny Sharpe said today.

"The O'Farrell Government is ignoring the advice of all the experts who say the airport line fares should be lowered."
