“The adoption of a New South Wales bill of rights would serve to take lawmaking power from our democratically elected parliament and hand that power over to unelected judges”

— The Hon. David Clarke MLC.

15th annual World of Women (WOW) Film Festival

WOW Film Festival

Earlybird entries are closing soon for the 15th annual World of Women (WOW) Film Festival.

Art and Truth

Terminus 2006 is a collection of five open air exhibits around Sydney [maps here]. The theme of the exhibition is 'truth' in our politicised society. Artist Michelle Outram is exploring speeches of the past and their relevance today. I participated in the opening by reading parts of my inaugural speech about women, equality, collectivism and families.

What I particularly enjoyed was hearing Paul Keating's Redfern Park speech which has lost none of it's potency.
