AUDITOR GENERAL ASKED TO INVESTIGATE NEW WARATAH TRAIN CONTRACT


NSW Auditor General, Peter Achterstraat, has been asked to audit the revised Waratah train contract amid concerns that the O'Farrell Government has put commuters and taxpayers at risk.

Opposition Leader John Robertson wrote to the Auditor General yesterday outlining his fears that the safety and reliability standards for the Waratah trains have been watered down.
