"The school formal is meant to be a formal dance between a young man and a young woman, not a young man and a young man,"
"We love all our [gay] students as we do all people in our churches but their lifestyle is not encouraged, particularly if it was a promiscuous lifestyle. We are dealing with young people here.

There was a baby in the Labor caucus meeting this morning. Angela D'Amore was back at work with her son. One of our Minister's has also recently has a child and the Labor candidate for Balmain, Verity Firth has a daughter who is only a few weeks old.
When I was elected last year, my son was one. He spent the first few months in my office a day a week.
No one likes to see "special" treatment for MP's compared to the rest of the community but if we are serious about women with children participating in our parliaments, onsite childcare is desperately needed.
Seems to be the age old
Seems to be the age old problem "what's good for the goose is not good for the gander" I can't take my children to work (I don't make up the rules), so I need to send my son to overpriced childcare. Good to see our government is looking after themselves.
Workbased childcare is
Workbased childcare is needed across far more workplaces than it currently is, especially in jobs that are shift based and/or require attendance for very long periods of time.
Childcare reform is needed for all workers with children.
MP's have no special access to childcare we pay like everyone else - assuming you can get a place.
I don't have the option to
I don't have the option to take my son to meetings, unlike what seems apparent in parliament. A day @ childcare = $70. A day in the office = priceless.
Hi Ladies, Sally - I too pay
Hi Ladies,
Sally - I too pay $70 a day for childcare but I am also lucky enough to work in a flexible workplace so that 2 days a week, I work from home with my 10 month old.
Penny is correct, on site childcare is a must and I'm pleased that Penny is willing to take up the fight and as a representative, get her employer to pave the way, how can we ask other employers for on-site childcare when our leaders don't provide it for themselves?
