The GLORIA's are back for 2011. Vote now for those most worthy.

Did you yell at the television when Jason Akermanis made his comments about gays in the AFL, or when Ron Wilson from Channel 10 suggested that Mardi Gras was disgusting? If you did, your chance to further demonstrate your frustration with public homophobia and transphobia is here with the 2011 GLORIA's.

Voting is now open.

Modelled on the Ernies for the most sexist comment of the year, the GLORIAs are an annual event that shines the light on outrageous, ignorant and ridiculous public comments made about members of the GLBTI community.

The GLORIAs are now entering their second year with nearly 50 nominations being made by members of the public throughout the year on the GLORIAs website.

Awards will be given in the 8 categories of Law, Media, Online, Politics, Religion, Sport, Silliest comment from within the GLBTI community and International.

The awards night will be held on Friday 3 June at NSW Parliament House, Macquarie St Sydney. Hosted by the wonderful Denise Hanlon and with entertainment provided by Indigenous performers Project Vogue from House of Black Star. Tickets for the awards night are $130 and include a 3 course meal and drinks. Tables of 10 are also available.
