SEE RED

"In my dream I saw fire everywhere with flames burning very high and uncontrollably.

... I woke up from my dream with the interpretation as the following words came to me in a flash from the Spirit of God: that His conditional protection has been removed from the nation of Australia, in particular Victoria, for approving the slaughter of innocent children in the womb."

— Pastor Danny Nalliah, of "Catch the Fire Ministries", blaming the Victorian bushfires disaster on laws decriminalising abortion in that state.

about this website

Politicians make decisions every day on behalf of the people of NSW, yet rarely do the people have the ability to have input prior to those decisions being made.

This website aims to improve access, accountability and input into the little corner of democracy that is NSW.

This website will provide information to let you know what is happening in NSW, how to influence the decisions that are being made and make suggestions for how things can be improved.

It is a first of its kind in the NSW parliament and contains a blog, online forums, an area for taking action as well as information on key issues that I am committed to. It will also contain my latest ebrief, newsletter and speeches.

The website will:

  1. Be informative. Find out about what legislation is coming up, what inquiries are seeking your views, latest pieces of research that should be shared more widely, what campaigns are happening and how you can make a difference.
  2. Be transparent. Very few people know what politicians in the Upper House actually do. This website will have information on my activities and the issues I am working on. Through my blog I will reflect on the decisions being made and seek your input.
  3. Focus on action. What action am I taking as a representative and what action can you take to make your voice heard.
  4. Be an ongoing conversation. I want my website to be a place to float and debate ideas, seek new ways of doing things and galvanise support for progressive causes. This website is meant to be a two way conversation that over time will build a coalition of people who are committed to making the world (and in particular NSW) a better place.
  5. Be willing to try new things (and possibly fail). This website is designed to allow me to try a number of approaches to open up the work of the NSW parliament to ordinary people. I hope that the website will evolve over time to become a working case study of how politicians and parliaments can benefit from the ongoing inclusion and input from "the people" into our decision making.
